Health Guidelines For Sound Healing

Sound healing is a complementary therapy designed to encourage deep relaxation, self-development and overall well-being.

While many participants experience positive effects, sound healing is not a substitute for professional medical care. If you have any concerns about your health, it is essential to consult with your GP, therapist, psychiatrist, or another healthcare professional before attending a session with Emma.

Health Considerations

If you have a severe, chronic, or acute health condition, you should either refrain from attending a session or obtain medical clearance beforehand. The following conditions require special attention:

  • Pregnancy (First Trimester): Sound healing is NOT recommended as a precaution.

  • Pacemaker or Recent Heart Surgery: If you have a pacemaker, sound frequencies may interfere with its function. Those recovering from heart surgery should seek medical advice before attending.

  • Epilepsy & Seizures: Those with epilepsy or a history of seizures should consult a healthcare professional before participating. If your condition is well-managed with a care plan, participation may be possible with medical approval.

  • Recent Surgery, Severe Injuries, or Medical Procedures: If you have undergone surgery or sustained serious injuries (e.g., bone fractures), please wait until you are fully healed before attending.

  • Mental Health & Psychiatric Conditions: While sound healing may support mild anxiety or depression, those with severe anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, psychosis, or those taking medication for mental health conditions should seek guidance from a psychiatrist or therapist before attending.

  • Metal Implants: Some individuals with metal implants may experience increased sensitivity to sound frequencies. If you have had recent surgery involving implants, please allow time for full healing before participating.

  • Recent Trauma or Post-Traumatic Stress: Sound healing can evoke deep emotions and memories. If you have recently experienced trauma, it is advised that you consult with the practitioner and ensure you have appropriate emotional support before attending.

  • Asthma: If you have asthma, please bring your inhaler and consult your GP if you have any concerns.

The Effects of Sound Healing

Sound healing works on an energetic level, promoting relaxation, emotional release and deep healing. Responses to sessions vary among individuals and may include:

  • Emotional release, such as resurfacing memories or strong emotions

  • Temporary feelings of sensitivity, tiredness, or flu-like symptoms as part of the healing process

  • Profound relaxation, increased clarity, and a sense of peace

These responses are a natural part of the body’s healing and self-regulation process.
