Somatic Coaching

Somatic coaching is a trauma-informed approach that supports nervous system regulation, resilience, and stress recovery.

It’s based on the understanding that chronic stress, overwhelm, or trauma aren’t just psychological, but also held in the body and nervous system. When the nervous system gets stuck in survival states like fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown, this can show up as anxiety, panic, fatigue, disconnection, emotional overwhelm, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling “stuck”.

Somatic work supports the nervous system by helping you become more aware of what’s happening inside, and how old survival patterns may still be showing up. This is not talk therapy or about analysing your story. It’s about working with emotion as sensation in the body, and building awareness through what you notice and feel internally.

This is a client-led space to reconnect with your internal experience, and begin understanding how survival patterns may be shaping your feelings, behaviours, and life. This work isn’t about fixing you, calming down, or forcing change. It’s about supporting you to build inner safety, awareness, capacity, and a different relationship with your experience.

Somatic Sessions

Somatic coaching sessions are gentle, structured, and adapted to your capacity on the day. We always move at a pace that feels safe and manageable for your nervous system.

We begin with body-based regulation practices (for dorsal vagal, freeze, and fight/flight), resourcing and nervous system education to build capacity and a sense of safety in the body.

As that capacity grows, we begin exploring deeper layers of your experience, which may include:

  • Somatic tracking (noticing sensation in the body)

  • Emotional and body-based processing

  • Somatic parts work and inner child explorations
